Pacific Alaska Tours hires experienced licensed commercial drivers and provides additional training through our Professional Driver Development Training program. Prior to being hired, every driver undergoes comprehensive interviews, federal drug screening, and a background check. All new hires must demonstrate proficiency in the different driving environments in which we operate. The amount of training is customized and based upon the driver’s existing skill level, familiarity with the vehicles in our fleet, and experience on the routes we drive.

During this time of heightened caution of the covid-19 virus, Pacific Alaska Tours remains committed to our number one priority, keeping our employees and guests safe. We have increased our disinfection policies and procedures as well as enhanced our safety standards. Vehicles are disinfected after every trip with Protexus electrostatic sprayers and PURTABS, an EPA registered broad-spectrum disinfectant and multi-purpose cleaner. PURTABS has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard, non-porous surfaces. We’ve also upgraded our on-board filtration system to include PuraWard filters with over 99.95% effectiveness in eliminating viruses and bacteria, making our motorcoaches one of the safest places to be in the Pacific Northwest.
